Callum Trigg-Smith: Head Coach,

Assistant to the Technical Director
(U7 Blue-Boys, U8 Blue-Boys and U9 Blue-Boys)


Coach Callum grew up playing soccer in Kailua for Volcanos before moving to Mililani Strikers. He played 4 years at Punahou High School and was named NSCAA All-Region.  In 2004, he was named All-American by NSCAA and was 2004 Hawaii State Player of the Year. He played Div-1 soccer at St. Mary's College in California, before completing his degree at the University of Denver. Callum came back to Hawaii to work and help coach Honolulu City Football Club whilst playing Div-1 MISO soccer for Lanikai Tuesday.  He possesses a USSF "D" coaching license.


 Lawrence Smalls:  JK & Academy Coach

Lawrence is a former professional soccer player for the LA Galaxy and Chivas USA. His passion now carries him to help future developing athletes, and to promote a healthy and active lifestyle through sports education. Whether it is recreational, youth club, collegiate, or professional soccer, Lawrence knows what it takes to develop through each level of sport. 

Lawrence was the first player from the University of California Irvine to be drafted into MLS. He also returned to coach at his Alma Maters, University of California Irvine, and La Salle High School in his hometown, Pasadena, California. 

While pursuing professional soccer, Lawrence was selected to be a brand ambassador for Nike, where he toured the United States performing skills demonstrations for soccer enthusiasts.

 He moved to Hawaii in 2008 to work at Le Jardin Academy in Kailua, Oahu, where in he played a major role in successfully developing a soccer academy for kids in Junior Kindergarten to Middle School. Lawrence also worked in partnering with the professional soccer club, Chelsea FC of England. Chelsea's program, Football in the Community, brought Chelsea FC coaching staff to Hawaii to coach camps and clinics. 

Lawrence later went on to create Advantage Sports Academy as a non-profit to promote community support for our young students in Hawaii.  Lawrence now has come back to partner with LJSA/Chelsea to work with our young players.

​Lawrence is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. He possesses a BA from University of California Irvine and a United States Soccer Federation National C License. 

Pelle Vig

Pelle Vig: Head Coach
(U10 Blue-Boys & U11 Blue-Boys)

Coach Pelle grew up in Sweden playing soccer.  At age 12 he was drafted to Helsingborgs IF, a professional club in the highest league.  In 1992, his U18 team became Swedish champions.  He continued to play professional soccer for Landkrona BOIS and Helsingborgs IF until 2002. His experience continued in various semi-professional leagues until a knee injury in 2007.  He coached a men's team in Sweden for three years and started his UEFA coaching license during this time. In the summer of 2013, he moved to Hawaii with his wife and two children. He possesses a USSF "D" coaching license. 

 Ian Brooks:  Head Girls Coach
(U9 Blue-Girls & U11 Gold-Boys)

While serving as a Marine Officer, Ian deployed 4 times overseas in support of both Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.  Ian blends a strong military work ethic, a positive attitude, and a driving desire to build our soccer programs. Ian has been coaching soccer for 7 years and currently has an "E" License.  Ian has been involved with soccer for 30+ years.  Ian has competed in the Marine Corps' Pacific Cup Marine Soccer Tournament.  Four times Ian was selected to the All Tournament Team and once selected as the Tournament MVP.


Bobby Nelli:  Head Coach
(U10 Gold-Boys)

Bobby will be beginning his first year with LJSA.  We are excited to get Bobby on board.  He currently works as the Physical Education Teacher at Maunawili Elementary School. Bobby graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.A in Physical Education & Teaching K-12 from SUNY College at Cortland in December 2015.  

Bobby currently hold a U.S. Soccer Class "E" coaching license, and has also worked as an assistant coach and personal trainer at a Brazilian Futsal Academy-Escola Coxa in North Charleston, SC. Bobby also has served as the assistant soccer coach at Marathon High School in New York.

Stacy Kilty: Business Manager

Stacy is an LJSA parent with a passion for serving in and supporting non-profit organizations. She holds a Bachelor's in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Stacy's responsibilities include player registration, coordination with team managers and accounting for all LJSA activities.

Dave Kannewurf: Le Jardin Academy Director of Athletics 

Dave leads the athletics program at Le Jardin Academy, an International Baccalaureate World School located in Kailua, HI, serving students from PK to 12th grade. Dave brings over 38+ years of coaching, teaching and athletic administration experience to LJSA.   Dave is a Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA) through the National Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA).

Dave and his wife Holly moved to Oahu in June 2015 and love being part of the Windward Oahu community. Prior to joining Le Jardin Academy, Dave served as the Athletic Director for over a decade at Atlee High School in Mechanicsville, VA. Dave serves as President of LJSA and supports the coaches and Business Administrator.
